So to try get away from our mud-slinging post. how's everyone doing?? Hows the weather??
I was up at the Yuba last week and had a pretty good time of it. Fish are fat and happy.... post all the caviar they have been munching on.
So wait for the rain to settle down, and if you have the time drop me a PM as I would be more than happy to make another trip up there.
Cheers
AA

I like to see the rain but Im kinda bummed. I was going to take a Steelhead clinic through the Western Sport Shop on Saturday but Carlo just called and said its a no go, booo I guess the Russian is muuuudddy and flowing at about 8K right now. Id be down for the Yuba. What section do you like to fish? Years ago I lived in Chico and would hit the river near Oroville. It was pretty good and close too.

I haven't fished the Yuba in a long time, but I hear if you go above the Hwy 20 bridge you should be throwing eggs and rubberlegs. Should be some BWOs I would try an S and M or pheasant tail. Eggs and leggs work better though I hear...
The Yuba spiked to 3144 cfs on Tuesday and stayed there until midday today. The flows are dropping. As I am typing this, the flow is at 2000 cfs. If the flows stabilize, the river might turn out decent for the weekend. Actually a good rain brings out the San Juan Worm hatch.

Edit (10:17 AM Thursday) It looks like the Yuba has leveled off at 1200 cfs out of Engelbright this morning. Deer Creek is still flowing around 90 cfs, so expect the Yuba to be off color some. There should be a nice Steelhead green tinge this weekend.
