Okay here's the question. Since our hatches are so messed up this year(right now) what's everybody tying? I am working on some stuff for next week but was sorta curious about what else you folks are working on.
CDC--really enjoy having another look to give. A larger assortment of stillwater flies and midges--especially since a majority of my fishing the last month plus has been out of the tube. Went through too many Bird's Nest on EW trip...just finished restocking box.
Cole, what about you...for next week?

I agree about the PT's lilwhip. Don't leave home without them. Dutchman, I am headed up north, but not as far as I usually go. Supposedly golden stones, caddis and pmd's. Those are only the "reports" which as I said are a little inconsistent. Besides the dry flies for those my nymph selection will be sparkle pupae, Mercer's golden stone and my mvp over the last two summers, the pmd trigger nymph. I will also be raking big sculpin patterns through the deep spots to see if I can trick one of the "landlords".
I usually tie alot of the basics year round, Probably because my skills are not very good. Pheasant tails, hares ears, birds nests, caddis pupa's, and larva's, and quit a few soft hackles. My goto fly for the summer has been the stimulator but I buy them. Heres a soft hackle and a simple caddis pupah I tie alot.
Hey Shon, I like the soft hackle. If you want to experiment with something, try tying a few wraps of a CDC feather before you tie in your partridge or hen. It makes for a neat underwing effect. I saw one of the guys at Specialties tie a soft hackle pattern that way. Other than being cool to look at, the fly is rather effective.
