I enjoy fishing the creek this time of year. Higher flows ,warm weather, no people. The creek forces me to fish hard. Adjusting weight, leader and changing flies at every hole.
I put in a few more hours again today. I fished each spot until it gave up its secret. Plenty of little fish (6"-8") and a few bigger fish hanging at the bottom of the better runs...

got a float tube from Otter and have used it solo once.  was good.  Getting to some water you can't otherwise fish.

I also like the high flows and fewer people.

It is nice not having te crowds. Was out with one of the veterans from Healing Waters. Fished around access five, he hooked up twice and got one of them, which was cool as it was his first time out on moving water. Other than that got it handed to us. I think more time on the creek is needed to figure it out a litlle bitconfuse

did some mega bushwhacking from my float tube yesterday (thanks to otter) and navigated a ton of poison oak, brambles, dead grapevines and trees, spiders, ants, etc to get to water no one fishes this time of year and was mildly disappointed that I only got about 5 or 6 fish - none of them big. Did get a few 12 inchers on a caddis right at dark though, which was nice.

JL Glad you are having some fun out there. I could see where you were fishing last night. You should know that MX19 and I will never show you where the big fish are!! You would catch them all!! Went up to my A spot last night to battle the big fish. Tight lines...  PS  If you want to catch some shad wading in fast water let me know...

I couldn't take the tube!  had to leave it on the shore.  As darkness closed in, I got back to my tube to find a fin missing... luckily it had slipped into the water in a back eddy and was under some dead branches.  I only had to get into chest deep water, climb over a dead tree and JUMP across a pool to splash into the area where my fin was.

As far as the big fish, yeah, you better not show me.  I'm better off slugging it out for 12 inchers.

Love to wade fish for Shad.  PM me - maybe we can do it not this coming week, but next.
