Stony creek inflow to black butte reservoir 789 cfs. That is going to be quit high. The flows are on dreamflows in the same section as putah creek. Good luck Richard.

I went there early season a couple years ago.  If you're going to be in the area anyway I'd say go for it, the wild trout section is up in the middle fork up above Red Bridge, it has a reputation for being fishable early season when everything else is blown out.

Trail pretty much disappears after 100 yards but you can bushwack as far as you care to upstream, there are fish everywhere.  Set your expectations for little native rainbows 5-10" with the occasional 12" fish.  Be sure to fish the pools below red bridge as well.  Casting can be tight, I had a 7' 4wt and it was perfect.  Fish nymphs with and without weight, dries, terrestrials, etc.  Not a lot of fishing pressure up there just throw whatever is working and keep changing it up if things slow down.  Bring Tecnu for scrubbing off the poison oak when you're done.

While using the "catapult" technique to load the rod for the next cast using a weighted nymph rig I ended up launching quite a few little rainbows past my ear and 10 yards up stream due to the unfortunate simultaneous occurence of hit, hookset, and forward cast.

I got snagged a lot on the bottom with my nymph rig trying to keep the drift on the bottom, be prepared to lose a few flies.

Chances are you'll have the place to yourself, it's pretty spot to spend a day. Some spots were kind of rough to climb around depending on water level due to the steep canyon walls.  Watch for rattlers.
