Yesterday were two firsts: 1) I saw what looked like a Warden's vehicle parked at Access 3 and 2) I had my first opportunity to tell a fisherman that using bait and barbed hooks were illegal on PC, also at Access 3. Apparently the Warden left before the fisherman arrived. When I got home, I called Cal-Tip and reported the incident, car plate number, etc. Later a local warden called to confirm the information. I don't know what the outcome will be, but its encouraging that there was enforcement follow up.
This points out that even if you can't report an incident as its happening but do so later, that there will be follow up. PCT has been told repeatedly by DFG enforcement that they need documentation that illegal stuff is going on before they will act on PC surveillance and PCT has repeatedly made that point in posts on the forum.
We know my experience with this bait guy is not an isolated one, because you have mentioned it in other posts. Its good to point out the error of their ways to them, but better to report them (reg ignorance is no excuse).
So, again, if you witness poaching or other illegal activities, please either call Cal-Tip or fill out the online report here on the home page. If enough reports are made DFG will be justified in sending more wardens to the creek.
