so with the trout season opener this saturday I'm sure you all have some great trips planned ? Gotta get out there and play with some fish that haven't seen a fly in atleast 6 months ! Hopefully weather holds. 3 days on the middle stan. for me. Getting up there to the sierra's is like going home
Ill be in the hunt for Brookies. I will be camping with the gf on the yuba for the opener, but the week following ill be hitting up the brook trout streams. I am looking to get a new 2wt for brookies and smaller streams, so ill be demoing some 2wts in the next 2 weeks. a Sage TXL 7'10" 2wt and the new Redington Classic Trout 7'6" 2wt, with a Sage Click reel and Sage Quiet DT line. Cant wait for them to get at my door step. Brook trout fishin on 2wts, is there anything better. lol.
Enjoy the fishing out there guys.

I scored some nice Sage LL's on ebay, an old SPL would be another nice 2 wt. Cheaper than new and you still get the factory support, and they are classic rods that you can sell for what you paid for them if you ever need - Jim

Nice brownie! Time to hit the little lake up north. The opener isn't what it used to be with many of the big rivers year around now. Rumor has it there is a river up north that is on fire!! Not sure where it is ha ha.
Camping with all those yahoo's wasn't bad. They were cool, I got afree pile of firewood from one group, and got offered some brown trout from another. Maybe they felt sorry for the lonely flyfisherman camping alone ? What I do find funny is when I'm camping and the spinfishers wanna know all about flyfishing, Like were some sort of rare bread, Like were some sort of sub culture, Hell sometimes I think we are. Dutchman, get up there man the flows are fine ! Indeed its good to see the dardenelle cones still covered, Its one of my favorite sierra veiws, Someday I wanna climb them. Hell yeah Otter, Lets get up to that little lake and get some browns !!!
