I will be traveling to Sonoma on a work vacation from April 20-25. I am very excited to get out for a day or 2 on the Putah Creek while I'm there. I have really enjoyed reading all of the tips and discussions about your local fishery.
My question is what fly shops would you recommend in the Sonoma or surrounding area as I usually like to stop into the local shops to pick up a few tips and buy a bunch of local flies. Also, what type of conditions can I expect on the creek at that time of the season?
Also, I am planning to get out for a couple rounds of golf as well as touring wine shops isn't exactly my thing. I will be staying at the Sonoma Mission Inn and I hear that the Sonoma Golf Club is quite nice, what other courses would you recommend in the area.

Lelands fly fishing ranch is in sonoma (707) 939-6910... A must this time a year. Fish filled casting ponds a pro shop and great place to hang out and enjoy the spring time weather..The people are great and they have casting lessons and other amenities .
In napa you have Sweeney (707) 255-5544. Nice shop , good selection and up to date reports.
The only thing I know about golf is they dont let you ride your dirt bikes on the course and Tiger needs a mulligan...
