Anyone going to be out there? I mean from the board, as I'm sure it will be busy on the water. I think I'm going to plan on heading downstream of the bridge instead of upstream where everyone else will be.
I am thinking about hitting it next week, maybe Wednesday after things from the weekend slow down. Also thinking that with the chance of more sun in the forcast there may be more of a chance of some dry Skwala action. What do you think? I have never fished that part of the Yuba. If anyone can make it next week and wants to try to hook up let me know. Would love to go tomorrow but it aint going to happen.

was out on the yuba weds, did pretty good, actually made it a 2 river day, the yuba in the am and the american in the afternoon. only fished the yuba from 8 to 1030, hooked 5 fish landed 2. not to many people on the water which was nice. water is still off color, more a greeny brown instead of all brown, but clearing up nicely. the water color is all from englebright. so in due time it will be clear again. after that hit the ar, and i finally hooked into the fish i have always dreamed of, while swinging one of my steelhead leeches. a wild fresh bright chrome 15+lb buck steelie with shoulders from hell, that just kicked my butt up and down the river for a good 20mins, i was the only one on the water, which was nice but sucked, and i tried landing this fish to soon. had him semi beached, went to tail him and the hook popped out, i grabbed his tail but couldnt hold on and got a face full of american river water. he just wasnt ready to give up. maybe next time.

Fishing isnt about catching fish, its not about who caught the most, or who caught the biggest, its about the experience that you have on the water, and the life long bonds you make with others on the journey to becoming a better person inside.
