Can anyone help me understand the layout of the Yuba access points upstream of the Hwy 20 bridge? I believe they are all privately owned, but I was suprised how many people/cars were accessing the river from up there the other day. Is the UC property the one on the north side of the river with the picnic tables and gazebo structure? What is the access at the top of the bluff on the south side with all the no trespassing signs? Is the hike further upstream of those points worthwhile?
I saw quite a few adult skwalas flying around up there but the fish didn't seem to be interested in them. I had some success with midge larvae patterns and tiny BWO dries mid-afternoon.
Yes, that is the UC property, which is not open to the public. The other setup is the Yuba Outdoor Adventures (YOA) property which you can buy a membership into. I know of no public access between Englebright Dam and the HWY 20 Bridge. It is all private property There is plenty of good water up there, it's just a lot of humping.
Putah Creek Trout will be having 2 outings to the UC Property this year!!!! Join the group and you have the opportunity to enjoy the facility and group for the day.
My cousin puts in her Kayak above Englebright Dam, then crosses the lake, you take out and hike over the bluff and down to the power house, where you put back in. from the base of the dam she paddles the river all the way to Sycamore Ranch where someone then picks them up.
She said she sees lots of big fish above Deer creek to the base of the dam.
Soon the newly acquired UC property above the adventure club will be Accessible in a few years i'm sure.
