I have a st croix imperial 9ft 5wt 4pc that i am selling do to a change in the imperials action. used to be a medium action rod, now they have it as a fast action rod. i am not a big fan of fast action rods so gonna have to say bye bye. originally pd 150 for the rod when i first bought it, and thats what i am asking for it now. $150. you are not gettin a used rod with a new section on it. this is a brand new rod through and through with warranty still attached.

Hey Brian, It really sucks when a rod company changes its actions on its rods. Scott bummed me out when it changed the actions when it replaced the S3S with the X2S.
I ran into my guide friend, Bill Lowe, on the Yuba. He had a 2010 Redington CT 9 foot 5 weight on his boat as his dry fly rod. What threw me is that Bill usually has top of the line Sage gear on his boat. Something must be up if Bill has a $160 rod on board.
The CT has a nice progressive medium action to it. I like how it delivered a dry fly gently with very little effort at various distances. It almost had the feel of some premium rods. Even though I didn't fight a fish with it, I feel it has plenty of shock absorption for fine tippets.
I think between Gary, Bill Kiene, and Rick Anderson, you should be able to find a Redington CT.
already been looking at the CT model from redington, i am looking to buy that one or the tfo finesse series 8-9t 5wt.
the redington is what i have in various rods and have been happy with them, their ct 9ft 5wt is 2.9 oz compaired to the tfo finesse 8-9ft 5wt which is .2 oz heavier but also 3 inches shorter. well and 20 bucks more as well. if the tfo was a 9fter i would go that route, but thinking of sticking with the redington. only time will tell.
