Hi everyone stopped at that little store right next to the lake that's right at the beginning of the creek and seen that they have some gear they are caring like some nice net's and backpacks that go in the front don't know what you call them but the net's were like $24.00 and the backpacks were about the same price. Was talking to the guy at the store and he said that they order some stuff here and there, i was just thinking that if we buy things from there that are good maybe they would store more fly fishing things, now with the new regs passed maybe they will do that even more, don't know if there is a Putah Creek board but maybe some one could talk with the store owner about that blankstare dont know just a idea. I would be nice to have a store that is closer to the creek.

It's easier to just show up at the creek already armed with what you need for the day. You'll end up spending a small fortune if you have to hit a shop each time before fishing.

I have to agree with DJ Watts. The local businesses in Winters need our support more than ever. With the economy as it is small businesses are really hurting. The store used to sell a lot of stuff when the creek was planted and the economy was better, but with no stocking and less traffic, they are really hurting. I talked to the owner today, and they are not making much money. I would rather give a few extra bucks to a local shop than to a big store with no ethics like Wal Mart. If they can be a mini fly shop even better. Just my thoughts.

PCT is a member of the Winters Chamber of Commerce. We have encouraged visiting and patronizing the Winters businesses on this forum many times. The City Council supported the regulation change even though many of the residents are  not fly fishers of the Creek. The City is in a world of hurt financially right now, so anything we can do to help will be meaningful.
