If you haven't had a chance to read the book Fish Food by Ralph Cutter I strongy suggest that you pick up a copy. It will change the way you fish and the Fly's you use. And get a copy of Bugs of the underworld, its a DVD.
Haha I had just bought Fish Food this past weekend and am nearly through it already and was going to post to let every one know it is a must read....

It is good... I know Tom Rosenbauer disagrees with some things the Cutters say. I actually prefer Prospecting for Trout by Rosenbauer. If I had to throw away all my fly fishing books and just keep one, that would be it.
Also good is Ed Engle's book Fishing Small Flies. His book before that, Tying Small Flies looks good, but I haven't bought it.
If you're unsure of the Rosenbauer book, Orvis has a free fly fishing podcast on the iTunes music store done by him. Three of the episodes are videos from a fly fishing show that cover a lot of the points he makes in his book.
I have read Prospecting for Trout and it too is excellent reading.......

Another good book is the Moon Guide to California Fishing. It doesn't have tips, but it's a great listing of pretty much every creek, river and lake in CA, with fish present, maps, and how good the fishing is.
