I am thinking about hittin it up tomorrow, any ideas of what the flows are supposed to be like? Wondering if it's worth the drive. I looked at todays flows below 100. This is my first year fly fishing, so I am trying to figure out the flows and relating it to what I can expect! Any ideas? Thanks

Hi: I went yesterday, hooked up one fish, but the flows were dropping. Ran into another fisherman and he wasn't doing very well, either. Stopped by today on the way home and the flows were very low (currently 70 cfs and dropping). I spoke with a guy who had 1 fish in 3 hard hours of fishing, so I didn't go. If you check the USGS flows, which you can do from this website by clicking on "Creek Flows" in the middle of the main banner above, and those are low or still dropping, I wouldn't bother going. It's lovely on the creek now with the fall colors and all, but the fish are put off by these rapidly changing water levels. For the last 10 days, the flows have gone from a 100 cfs down to 60 and back up to a 100 with rapid changes in between. Not ideal. Those are my two cent's worth.
Don't put to much stock in survey's last wensday the day after some good rain I hit up the creek  and landed my biggest fish to date check the photo I posted on the putah and click on putah after the storm thats big for me . It hit on a peach colored san juan worm and did not want to go peacefully into the night it was a great fight seemed like maybe 4 or 5 minutes to net so don't fret and keep the faith! I may go tomorrow and tryout my new six wt tfo
Hey Rich you bought a rod...nice one ...I was just diggin out that other one I told you about.... well anyway I am sure you will enjoy your new one.
Also to the original post the fish are around lots of small fish between 8-12 inches. just got to find them. Richard and I hit the creek on Monday morning for 4 hrs and got over a dozen fish between the 2 of us.
Tiny midges fished through the buckets and away you go, but I am a rookie so you may want to wait for more experienced advice, but that seems to be what is working for me.

Richard, Sarah, and I were nailing them last Saturday on a caddis pupa - hitting the end of the glossoma activity. I wasn't using an indicator for the deep runs; just high sticking with a ton of weight. It's exciting fishing; you miss fewer strikes and in these short runs between rocks, you have very little margin of error in playing the fish.
