My fishing this summer has been severely curtailed due to the arrival of my daughter, but I might get a free day next weekend. I was thinking about heading up to the North Fork of the Stanislaus or maybe nearby Beaver Creek. Anybody been up there lately? Are the flows too low now?
What Shaun said... plus I'd hit North Fork rather than Beaver Creek. Pack a lunch and hike in for the day, get away from the campgrounds.
Defenitly make a day hike of it, the further you go the btter it gets. I might actually give it a try this weekend if a trip to the middle stan. doesn't work out.
Fished the north stan. for a few days this weekend. The flows created a bit of a problem, The river is flowing pretty high may want to consider other option unless they come down, Listed at 195 when I left friday wich was pretty high and are now listed at 282 cfs. Still managed to get quit a few fish on dry droppers but worked for em. And man was it HOT ! Biggest fish, A couple of 12 inch browns. I also managed to almost completely tear a guide off a $800.00 rod I have no clue how that happened.

Thanks for the report. Was going to try and run up for the day Sunday, but did not make it. Maybe I will try Beaver Creek then - the flows are usually lower.
I also managed to almost completely tear a guide off a $800.00 rod I have no clue how that happened.

Ouch...
Oh, yeah. Forgot to mention that I had an epic two days this week on a little traveled section of the headwaters of the E. Carson River area. Deep into the Silver King Creek meadows area for the "wildest looking" 'bows and browns I have seen in a long time. Eager to jump all over a hopper or anything else you could pull from your fly box. Guess I'm not surprised to find fish in the sizes we caught so far into the backcountry. Simply awesome! Needed two more days to completely satisfy the level of excitement of finding these fish.

iFish- that's freakn awesome. I have wanted to hike into that area and stay over night all summer. It's about a 6 mile hike in isn't it?
I was on the EC this morning...this is by far my favorite time of year to fish it. Epic hatches of tricos, hoppers everywhere and clouds of caddis if you stay till the evening.
I have no clue how that happened.
