i think i am a few of the above,

I tie what I need for the next trip
I can tie for a few hours, but my butt is numb when I stand up
1 to 2 flies and I'm exhausted

and its in the order
normally when i site down and tie, ill tie for a few hours for the trip for the next day and tie between 4-8 flys. but thats about it. never really tie just to tie, i dont have enough time.

oh ya i do allow a few buddies to tie a few up for me. thanks jt, george (who isnt on here) and packrat. lol

I used to tie for hours in one sitting. Now I tie what I need for the next trip. I usually don't tie more than 4 of the same fly because that would be overkill.

Generally, I tie to keep my boxes full, to replace lost flies. I will from time to time spend an evening or a quiet morning tying for a friend or for a new fly that has found favor.

I buy my flies.  It's just too tedious for me.  My eyes hurt, get headaches, get frustrated too easily and thats just doing midges!

I have been tying for 16 years now and I still dont get bored if I spend 8 or 10 hours a day doing it on my days off. And dont think I ever will.
