Truckee Report 6-21
Permalink

Fished for about 7 hours on the Truckee on Father's Day. The fishing was solid but not spectacular. I think that the fishing is really going to turn on soon though becuase there are a ton of hatching insects. Mayflies were all over the river yesterday. Most of my fish were caught on mayflies. Green Drakes, PMD's, and micro mayflies. If your a dry fly fisherman, now is the time to get up on the Truckee, lots of rises, huge hatch around 5:00 PM. Im normally a nymph guy but the rises were ridiculous  so I put on an adult green drake and hooked up immediately.

Nothing better than a day on the river with my dog.

Most of the fish were small but beautiful
