Me and my dad went down there this weekend, just looking for a place to get going this year. So, we started around 7:30 just below the fish hatchery, and had a few 10-12 in. on the line but couldn't bring them in. We fished till dark and called it a day. Next day we went down and dropped in, in our 2- seater kayak just above the town of Clement. We paddled up, stopped, and wadded at the various pools and ripples, got a few to go for the flies but couldnt hook them.
That was the day... we paddled all the way up close to the hatchery, and gave up.
Any advice from people who have been there, were they had some success, what time of day.. any thing to clue us a bit.
It reminded me a lot of Putah, fast in some places, then very lake-like in others, almost identical terrain.. very nice place.
thanks, Mac
btw, thanks Packrat for the waders, really changed our ways of fishing... no longer are we constrained to the shore, or how much of the cold we can take!
