Does anyone know if the fires of the previous year affected the NF of the NF American River around NF Campground area? Haven't been in a while and someone mentioned that it had???

PM me if you like. Thanks!

No they really didn't.  The fires burned very sporadically and jumped all over the place.  The burn temp was pretty low, so much of the brush did not even clear burn.
I fished the area a number of times last year, the biggest loss was several miner's camps that had burned down.  Right now I would expect the river to be raging from runoff.

Hey Bob, there you are. I was hoping you'd jump on this since you mentioned you fish there. I haven't been to the NF of the NF in over a year and wasn't sure about the fire sitch. Yeah, figured the runoff would be excessive right now, as is the case all over.

I do have a hot tip which is fishing great right now. You may know of it. I'll PM you.

I haven't been there for a couple of years. It seemed ok back in 2007.

My uncle pans for gold up there he went up last week he said that most of the area didnt burn to bad. Also said fish are starting to get more active during the dat.... might be worth the trip in a few weeks as temps rise
