California Legislator Wants Striped Bass Eliminated

Apparently, an assembly woman from Bakersfield has drafted legislation to, among other things, remove sport fishing protections for striped bass.  This move, done under the guise of protecting salmon stocks in the Delta, appears to be a big giveaway to agricultural interests that pump water to central valley.

If they really wanted to do something about predation on juvenile species they would start taking out some of the sea lions.  Of course, blame it on the next species that water interests are worried about become listed under the ESA which means more biological opinions and remedial orders by Judge Wanger.
