I use the head cement sold by Creative Sports. I learned my flytying from Andy Puyans, a Fly Fishing Hall of Famer, over 20 years ago and this is the stuff he suggested. Of course, he owned the store at the time. I have never used anything else. Unlike some head cements that coat the thread, the Creative Sports head cement penetrates into the thread and material and pretty much disappears.
Hi Vince, I've used Loon cements before. You should be fine with it. Like other cements, just make sure that you cap the bottle when you are done to keep it from drying out.

I use both the Creative Sports head cement and Dave's Flexament. I use them for different purposes. The head cement for finishing off the flies because as mentioned it penetrates into the thread for a good hold. I use the flexament if I need to coat the hook for a material to really stick and be more durable, like dubbing or rabbit strips, on buggers, etc. The head cement is too thin for this use.
Watch some Andy Burk tying videos on Youtube, he uses lots of flexament to help the flies hold up better.
