I apologize for the late notice to anyone who might be interested--hard to miss the Stan's popularity with a few members.  smile This information was just provided to me.

Stanislaus Fly Fishers: River Cleanup
Date:This Saturday, March 14
Time: 9:00 AM
Location: Knights Ferry. Click here for a map.

The following is information as received by cleanup coordinator,
Jesse Anderson.

" The plan is to meet at the Knights Ferry Recreation Area parking lot
(on the North side of the river) at 9:00 am this Saturday morning. We
will then get all the rafts and gear ready to go and start putting
people in the water. The plan is to float down to Horseshoe
Recreation Area (the first take out downstream of Knights Ferry) and
pickup as much trash along the way as possible. Folks can leave their
vehicles at Knights Ferry and then we can shuttle people back up to
them at the end of the float.

The USFWS has donated trash bags for people to use and the USACE has
agreed to let us dump the trash in their dumpster at the end of the day.

The float should take folks ~4-5 hours with stopping along the way to
pickup trash, fish, eat lunch, etc. They are reducing the flow
little bit further today (down to 200 cfs) so it will be a bit slow
going in some spots.

People interested in coming should bring their own personal items such
as food, water, sunscreen, etc. I would also suggest waders and or
wet suit/dry suit if people want to get real serious and dive down
deeper in some of the holes. Also, if anyone has a personal
watercraft that they can use they should bring it (i.e., raft, canoe,
kayak, etc.).

If anyone has questions direct them to contact me at 209-968-5857 or
my email address anderson@fishsciences.net. "
