I made a lot of bad decisions yesterday...no

wanted to try the creek, but decided to wait and pair up with a pal and go with Mr Bonovich for a 1/2 day and get the lay of the land. I think that's probably a good decision.

After deciding the creek was out I motored to the foothills and passed up Pardee for Amador...bad decision no. 1 ldr for the day and that was aboout as good as any of the other tubers/tooners I talked with...

About 12:30 decided to kick down lake 1 more time. about the time I got, oh, maybe 200 yds past the tube where they stock the wind turned around and freshened. Another very bad decision no. It was a long kick home into the breeze...

I could wear out this little iconnonono but don't want to bore you any more...tight lines...-Mike

I don't care how good anyone is or how long you've been at this game, Everyone has days that make you question why you choose to pursue trout in the most diffucult way possible.

it was actually a real nice day to be on the water and I had fun with the other skunk victims...we were all trading flies and trying to help each other out. Pretty cool stuff. I was just whining...

As we cry into our drinks, I know your pain, man.....
I was on the lower Yuba and watching fish jumping everywhere about two weeks ago. All I could hear in ear shot from other fishers all day was, "Great fish Joe, a real beauty". Or in proximity to me, people hooking up on almost identical rigs, moments after their first cast..................... Nada for me

Behold the Fisherman.
He riseth up early in the morning
and disturbeth the whole household.
Mighty are his preparations.
He goeth forth full of hope and when the day
is spent, he returneth smelling of strong drink
and the truth is not in him.

I fully understand the burn you had going in your legs by the time you got to shore. I've tubed Baum lake on several occasions. Baum is not really a lake , but a widening of Hat creek with a current that's fun to float down at the beginning of the day , but hell to kick against at day's end.But hey, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger...........UH..Right?   Viking
