Check out these big browns in the Kern River fly fishing forum.  Anyone know where this is? http://www.kernriverflyfishing.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1226784801

Its got to be some type of head-water where the big browns head out of some lake to spawn.....lets see, that narrows it down to about 25 different spots (noticed some aspens, so Im thinking mid to upper elevation)...At least its a start.

Man those are some nice fish.  Judging by the size of their set-ups it looks as though they were fully prepared for their encounter.  On a more random/related note, has anyone ever tried to take a boat as far as they could up the yuba dumping into bullards bar res?  I have fished up higher on the NF, but kind of wanted to do a little exploring closer to the res.  Any thoughts? These pics have got me ancy to try it out.

By the looks of the shallow water and the time of the year those are spawning fish...I dont know where they were caught but the water must be warm and the food supply heathy...

I would guess they were fishing one of the streams on the eastern side of the Sierras.  Anywhere from Fall River to the Walker.

Definitely not the Walker, the water is too big and the surrounding trees are all wrong.

It looks like the Trinity below Lewiston. There is a house in the first picture and I know an area that looks like the last picture.

That area looks just like the Trinity, but my good buddy who guides there and lives there part time has not mentioned any browns of those numbers this year.Last year we caught a few big browns there though.
