this land is not your land?

I know thisis old news for a few of you. The USFS is continuing with their route designation process. Currently the Tahoe National Forest is on the chopping block. Pirate4x4.com has a letter generator that is easy to use if you would like to send in comments.

Winter closures for forest access are a big issue, with as much as 3-6 months of the year being closed to access. I know it's a fishing forum but a lot of folks in here hunt too. Nobody ever hunted late season and had a little snow on the ground? Never seen any snow on the ground while heading to a favorite stream or lake early in the season?

The Tahoe National Forest is trying to set a precedence regarding seasonal road closures due to snow and wet conditions. The 4wheel drive community is trying to make a stand, but the closure would effect far more folks, such as fishermen and hunters.

Please help make a stand.

Thanks
Robert

I deal with it every day. We loose more and more OHV land use for offroad motorcycles each year and our DMV registration  money gets used on other sate projects .On the mx side we loose a track every 6 months to land development or noise issues...I feel your pain my friend...

The frustrating part is it isn't just ohv use that is effected.  The Tahoe National Forest can be effectivley CLOSED to the public for anywhere from 3-6 months due to wet weather and/or snow.  Tahoe is trying to set the precedence for other national forests to follow.

People on this board access rivers and lakes via USFS land to fish, hunt and a host of other activities.  Cal. F&G has started opening different rivers to year round use, big deal if you can't get there.

It takes 5 minutes to email a letter but...............People are sheep furious.gif

I totally agree 100% with everything stated above. But one of the problems are the people that use this land in irresonsible ways, Remember LEAVE NO TRACE. Look at the area on the silver fork at the bridge were alot of people camp,  That area should not be like that, Thats the kinda stuff that is getting more and more land closed.

And the USFS answer to that is to close more land and congregate more and more of those types of people into smaller and smaller areasconfused
