I headed up to my grandpas in willow creek and fished the lower trinity for a few days, and it was slow for me. I probilly fished 8 or more hours a day and only managed to land a few half pounders. The whole weekend I only had 1 good hook ups with a nice steelie which didnt last long. It was a fun trip anyways though. Your best bet for the lower trinity is probilly by a drift boat, but then again all the guys on the boats told me they only got a few hook ups with only 1 or 2 to hand, which was better than I did. I fished the lower klamath on that friday there was more half pouders running through there, than I saw on the trinity. Anytime in the next week or so the trinity should be picking up pretty well. I started to see more fish coming through my last day there, and still only got a few half pounders, which is still a bunch of fun, but i was hoping for that nice adult. . At the last day me and my buddies hit clear creek for a bit on our way back home and had a blast! We each caught some nice rainbows 15-18" range all on dries. Even saw a bunch of kokanee running up the creek which was pretty awsome to see. Some of the bows we caught were plants and some were nice wild fish, and the ones that where plants were some damn nice looking fish, If they didnt have there fins clipped I would have swore they were natives. Fishing there was a good way to end the trip. Hopefully when I head back to in november ill get into some better steelie action.
