well as well all know i have a digital camera know, but when i went to the trinity i did not. and after looking though my post we never posted about it. so here we go.
Dont remember the dates exactly, but hit up the trinity at the end of aug with emerger, myself and lilwhippersnapper, good way to start my prevacation fishing trip. emerger was already up the evening before, before me and lilwhipper got up there. me and him left very bright and early around 3am and got up there about 6:45ish, didnt set anything up, woke emerger up and away we went fishing. hit the douglas city area first, we all did ok, hooking into some fish and landing some. finally got my first nice brown trout on a bugger, it was great, the grab, the fight and the pic. also hooked a crap load of smaller rainbows on kaufman stones and pupahs, some in the 12-14"" range, and hooked a nice 16"er as well but got off as i went to pick him up. got back to camp around noonish and set up camp, and figured we would hit up the hatchery area, we walked upstream just to check things out, and we saw a lot of big bodies fish, so away we went. we learned a lot that day, hookin fish, loosing fish, very few fish landed that evening, the next day we woke up, my neck was killing me due to not having my special pillow, so the boys went off without me, knowing it was gonna a short day, around 9 am, i decided to deal with the pain and get down there, on the water line in at 10 am, and the fishing was great, lilwhippersnapper hooked and landed a great steelhead, which brought him down pretty far on the river, me and emerger stuck it out with out 8 and 7wt with the salmon, while lilwhipper stayed below us with his 5wt working the steelhead. all in all i am glad i decided to deal with the pain, between fishing with the guys, and the fish that we hooked, losed, and landed, i completely forgot about the pain. me and eric decided to call it a day around 4 or 5pm, got back to camp, packed it up and drove home. i miss the trinity and hope to fish it within the next 3-4weeks. if anyone wants to go please hit me up, i am down to go tues and weds during the week. leave 3am on tues and be home around 9pm on weds.
here are some pics of the trinity trip
hope you enjoy trinity here i come

as far as the browns on the trinity goes, i dont know, but i do know this, the one that i caught is my biggest, but for that river that is small. i wanted to pump its belly to see what it was eating, but never did. all i know is that brown had a big ol beer gutt on him. i wish i had my digital then, the pics do not do that fish justice. oh well, just fyi, the other fish, aka hawgs are all salmon. the first one that emerger hooked i thought was a huge 24-26" brown but ended up to be a nice chunky salmon.
i am looking to be up there for a few days in about 3 weeks. this time for some steelies, but who knows maybe ill make a trip to that spot to try and get some browns, a lot of fallen trees, and overhanding branches, browns love those spots.
