My brother and I fished Hot Creek Ranch this past Wed and Thur.  Hot Creek Ranch is dry fly fishing only and wading the stream is not allowed.  On Wed I caught 8 fish; 3 were between 14 and 16 inches and the other 5 were 8-9 inchers.  Thursday I caught only 4 fish, but they were all between 14 and 15 1/2 inches.  Most of the flies we used were caddis patterns, size 20 and 22.  A couple of fish were caught on Baetis (blue wing olive) emergers, size 22, and a couple on a grey midge, size 22.  All in all, the trip was fairly good, but I was truly hoping to catch at least a fish or two over 17.  One of the problems was that the stream was quite low and I only saw a couple of big fish rise during the entire two days.  As you would walk around, you would spook a lot of nice fish, but hardly any were taking dries.
