Hey, I just moved to Suisun from St. Louis 3 months ago. I am getting depressed from not being on the water. I've been reading up on how the bite is on Putah. I'm going to try to get out there tomorrow or sometime next week. I don't need to know any honeyholes, I will explore the river myself and see what I can find. Sometimes that is the best way, although frustrating. What I do want to know is are there any good fly shops around the river where I can stock up on flies and get some advice on the latest reports? I can't wait to get out there and wet a line. I'll try not to invade anyone's space. Hope to see you all out there.
The closest shops are Sweeney's in Napa, Creative Sports in Pleasant Hill, Kiene's in Sacramento, American Fly in Sacramento, and Fish First in Albany. Greg Bonovich also sells flies. Just click on "RETURN to Putah Creek Fly Fishing Web Site" in the upper left of this page to see his flies.
