My brothers own the napa valley marina and they fish it almost daily...the fishing is getting better and the fish moving into the river are getting bigger as well...as far as fly fishing its getting better each week...You need a boat and motor if you want to make a day out of it ...A float tube will work as well..If your float tubing it I would drop in at kennedy park and fish the yaht club.
The river need s some fresh water from up valley to move through.once that happens the bait will move up river and the stripers will follow...thats when it get really good...So pary for rain...

Normally striper fishing in that general area will take off in a big way mid october, Some call it the world series bite, I'm sure you can figure out why. If you ever experience a real striper boil its something you will never forget.
