Conefish and i along with a few other relatives fish these fisheries regularly for a week while staying in Black Butte Ranch. The metolius is a spring fed, fly fishing only, catch and release river. We fished it right during the golden stone hatch and caught many. Conefish landed a 19 1/2 inch rainbow on a stonefly dry along with many other nice fish. I caught a 18 inch rainbow and a 18 1/2 inch whitefish. Although the stones were coming off, i decided to try for the bull trout in the deep holes that get up to twenty pounds! I tied on a big bunny leech and hooked one within a few casts... we tussled for a few long seconds and the hook popped out and snagged on a log in the water. I didn't know how big he was but he had to be around 30 inches!
Pharalope and gooding are lakes that are within Black Butte ranch and hold some nice trout! We caught some nice fish and they were mostly on spent spinners. The biggest being 20 and the smallest being 13.
the underwater shot is sick, i feel the same way i need to get a underwater dig so i can post the pics as well.
in a lower leg cast catching fish. thats the way to do it. as long as you can cast you can fish. no matter if i am in a wheel chair or what. ill be on the water. way to stick in there with the cast. even see you got a bag around it. make sure you tape that thing up good if you decide to hope in the water, or even fall in by accident.

Fishing isnt about catching fish, its not about who caught the most, or who caught the biggest, its about the experience that you have on the water, and the life long bonds you make with others on the journey to becoming a better person inside.
you got to watch out for foot rot aka JUNGLE ROT vietnam war. over 12hrs of wet feet will cause the skin to peel off like peeling a banana. looks like you got very very close to having that. i would say another day and you would have got the rot.
