Are you dudes fishing out here, or are we just waiting for it to come down? Lot of new guys seem to want to fish it now, but where are the posts from the rest of you?

Hell, I'm not fishin' it, but I feel like bitchin'!

And now time for gin & juice   hungry.gif

I've only touched putah 2 times in the last few months. To much other good fishing to do in other places now. Personally i'm waiting for it to come down and looking forward to a good winter on the creek.

I missed out on the Putah this winter. I just had too many commitments. This time of year, my concentration is mostly spent on mountain streams and lakes and Smallmouth Bass in the midelevation rivers.

I'm looking forward to the low flow season already.

I agree, this is not Putah time for me.  Way too much good fishing in the mountains right now.  Putah really rocks from October to February, as does the Yuba.  This is prime time for higher elevation fishing, take it while it's good!

There's lots of "sign" out there-empty Eagle Claw snell packages, long pieces of monofilament, Subway sandwich bags, beer cans, bait jars, etc. Keith B has seen very few online survey reports posted since May. We don't have access to the box surveys, so maybe they are receiving the bulk of the reports. Anyway, IF YOU GO, be sure to complete one. Fall is coming and Putah Creek Trout can use as much info as possible to forward to DFG in the coming months.

This is a topic I can identify with!

I've been away ... more because of professional chaos than any other more credible excuse.

I LOVE reading the posts of you hard cores!  I say this with respect ya'll.

I am about due to start out again.  It was about this time last year I first started fishing Putah.  I had a winter that was unusually successful for a newb last year. Due in no small part to the direction of forum members and total emersion in "Putah-zen".

One fruitless visit to the AR, left me with yet another virus that might need attention this winter.

I am due  ...  for some time on the creek.  Fish or no fish ... I'll be out again before the month is done.

Clean up?  Yah, I'm down!  I made one and missed one last year. I get the impression that the folks who turn the creek into a playground in the spring and summer, have NO idea the magic that nature pulls off there in the fall and winter.  If they did, they might respect it more as a habitat, and treat it less like a DUMP!

Be well my fellow O. mykiss freaks!

See you this fall,  Ed.

The posts may be few and far between, but I've seen people post some impressive results this summer. Personally, the two or three times I've visited the creek this summer were all good days. For those who are willing to do some agressive wading and sling some shot, Putah is a solid fishery year round.

Of course, the fall months put the summer to shame, but coming from the south bay, I can't think of a more convenient or productive option when I want to take a day trip to entertain my passion for trout and moving water.

And I agree, all the trash on Putah is really unfortunate, and I would love to help out on an upcoming stream cleanup.
