You guys have any good recommendations for a guide on the East Walker?  I'm doing a trip out there labor day weekend, and figure I'll get a guide the first day to show me the ropes.

Spencer,
If you going to spend the whole weekend, get yourself a Nevada license. There are some great fishing locations of the EW on the Nevada side.

Keep an eye on the flows they need to stay about the same for 2 to 3 days for good fishing. I think its flowing around 200 now which is ok, 170 or a bit lower is prime. Should be execellent hatches coming off at this time. The hype is all true the river is a great fisherie but do not by any means think it is easy

I fished down there a couple of months ago for the first time. We fished only in Nevada, down on Rosaschi Ranch area.  Great Fishing!  Fished very much like Putah Creek to me.  There is a place called Ken's Sporting Goods in Bridgeport that is the local fly fishing place.  They have a lot of local guide recomendations as well.

As a sideshow, we got buzzed by a couple of A-6 Intruders from Fallon, maybe you'll get an airshow as well.

A buddy of mine is a reserve aviator and trains every year at Fallon. Went out a couple years ago to get a tour which was pretty cool and watch the Super Hornets fly around. They do some pretty cool flying out there.
