I've been lurking this board for awhile, and I have finally decided to open a membership. I'm AbelBoy. I fly fish like all of you. I have never fished Putah, but from what I read, it's great water. One of my friends fishes it quite a bit, so I'll be fishing it with him.
I usually fish to the north and east of Sacramento. I probably spend most of my fishing on the Lower Yuba. It's a great year round fishery. Lately I have been putting time on the different forks of the American. In the fall, I get my Steelhead fix by fishing the Rogue with a group of friends.
One of my favorite fly fishing endeavors is fishing the salt. Almost every year I make a trip to Mexico. The past two were to Loreto, BCS, for Dorado and Pacific Sailfish. The two before that, I spent chasing Tarpon off the Yucatan. I highly encourage anyone who hasn't fly fished the salt to do so at least once in their lifetime.
Welcome to the board AbelBoy... I have always wanted to go after steelhead on the Rouge but have not had the time yet. Putah is a great place to fish and the people on this board have a ton of information and knowledge.
