What is the secret fly for the Pink Albert?  I can almost bet that DTP is up there catching those fish on the Upper Sac.  Anyone with a dry or nymph pattern should send out a pattern.

It is a mayfly supposedly hatching on the Upper Sac. I found an article that helps it looks like an emerger or soft hackle will work.

Hey Chris,

Pink Alberts are easily imitated with standard sparkle duns, viz-a-duns, and parachute style flies. I used a darkish pink loopwing parachute in a size 16 and had steady action. Use dark dun hackle. I also used some funny looking emerger that was also pink and it caught a few before coming apart when I used my forceps to remove it. Size 14 would work as I was a little on the small side.

Personally I think if you had a few in sulphur orange they would probably get eaten biggrin.gif

Can't beat a Viz-A-Dun; floats high, easy to see, super durable, and catches fish.

That link is for the Epeorus mayfly, which is actually hatching on the Pit right now in size 12 and 14. Good stuff. Pink Alberts are smaller and well, you know, pink....smile.gif

I looked for those Pink Alberts, but didn't find any. Found some better bugs though. There is a fairly large hatch of Golden Stones on the Upper Sac right now. It is pretty late in the season for Goldens, but it has been a weird weather year. Lots of caddis and stoneflies (goldens and little yellows). Dry fly fishing was great with a big yellow stimulator. The fish were going bonkers for the Goldens.
