I've heard there are some trout in this creek. I'm going up there with some buddies and doing some back-packing in sunol park. Anyone know anything about this creek?
I would really like to hear how you do also. I just moved to Dublin a few months ago and it has been killing me. I didn't know of any water other than stillwater around here to catch trout in. Does anyone know of any other fishable water around Dublin for trout?...other than lakes.
I did some reading on Alameda Creek and I guess they are putting some effort into restoring it to a Steelhead/Salmon fishery like it used to be. Apparently, a few steelhead have observed in the Creek in recent years. I don't know how much real effort is being put into restoring it but it is always exciting to hear.
If you are going to try and fish this area in Sunol Regional Park -- please check with rangers or park staff there first! I would hate to see you guys get a heavy fine for fishing if you are not supposed to be, I know for a fact that this area is patrolled by the East Bay Regional Park Police Department with 4x4's helicopters, dirtbikes -- u name it.
Sorry to all of you guys who were expecting a report. My friends dad planed for us to camp away from the creek, so I didn't get to fish at all. On the loop back ,this morning ,we stopped at a place called little yosemite, which was a little waterfall on the creek. Under the falls were clear deep pools, with what looked like baby steelies.
