Fished the middle fork stan. this weekend for a few days. The fishing was a little slower then i would have expected. Caught mostly browns 14 to 16 inchers with one nice one mixed in that was about 18 to 20 inches, All my fish came on dry's, parachute adams, and a fly that basically looks like an all black adams (not a parachute). The fish were pretty finicky and spooky. Just had to work on em for awhile. Seems they were a bit less finicky once wind put some chop on the water. Overall was a good start to this years trout season. As usual, good to fish with ya Emerger, Hey post that only pic we got. Theres so much water to cover 2 days just isn't enough time for a river like that. Saturday was a bit crowded with spin fishers, sunday was great, not one person seen fishing the entire day. Still alot of snow up on the those mountains up there ! Gonna be a late start for the non tailwaters.
Nice one Captain. Sounds like you got some nice ones. Here's a couple from Sat. Nothing huge but I got to fish my favorite river. Salmonflies, a couple goldens and some brownstones even came to the party. Only got to fish about 3 hours, 3-6 but made the most of it. Mercer's stone, 20 incher stone and two others on an olive booger.
Nice report Sean. It is always good to hear a good report. Did you get Cliff into a brownie? He was saying that was one of his goals this year. Hey Cole haven't heard from you in a while were you fishing the Pit? Fish on!!! I was working on my dirt bike all day Saturday, but did manage to get out to Putah for a few hours and landed five wild ones and a planter. The planter was in the middle of the creek where he shouldn't of been, so I made that dummy into dinner.
Hey Otter, what kinda dirt bike you got ? Yeah Cliff got him a few brownies. Dutchman, No way on the float tube, much to windy. Besides I think the better fishing is down in the moving water. Dry's were size 14 to 18's.
