Wednesday - 23 April - Good fishing!

Spent the day on Putah Creek with the infamous Guide - Greg Bonovich and the fishing was good.  My buddy landed a 22.5 inch beauty and all together we caught 10 (most of them much smaller).

We saw 3 other people on the Creek, and the weather was perfect.  Greg will be putting the pictures up...

It was our very first time on the Creek and it made a good impression (with Greg's extraordinary knowledge and help).

Congratulations!  I went out with a friend for a few hours on the 22nd and got skunked.  My buddy hooked into one pig that went aerial and shook him pretty quick.  I was definitely suprised by the higher flows...those spots that were so great a few months back just were no longer fishable.  That is definitely where it really pays to have someone with you that knows the river so well under every condition.

You said you caught one pig, but how about the others? Stocker, natives, average size or pretty small?  I am just curious to see if anyone is catching the juvenile (6"-10") trout that seemed to be pretty plentiful a few years back.  I haven't hooked into any smaller trout in a few months on the creek and that worries me a bit.

Sounds like you enjoyed your first time out on putah, Gratz on the good fishing, I saw you guys land that pig, and it was a nice one. I lost one pig myself and caught a whole bunch of planters that day. All in all it was a good day. Well once again gratz for your buddy landing that nice fish, and welcome to putah.

The secret to our success was a knowledgeable guide.  He put us in the right places and we just had to execute.  That is why Carson caught the pig, and I got piglets... he's a better fisherman.

A good day on the creek.... or in my case in the creek.... another story.
