Well I live in woodland and decided to go to the meeting place in winters. Didn't think many people were going to show up but had a great turnout with 10-12 people. Much to my suprise now don't quote me here but while cleaning up around below the dam in winters I'm a salmon fishermen in the north valley rivers and saw what seem to be a salmon alive facing the current by the dam. Now Ken was photographing today and swore it looked to be a salmon, he was puzzled because he said it is to late for salmon to show up now, but I thought it might be to early to see salmon in the creek at this time but who knows, but what a great suprise since that area from talking to Ken is going to be restored to a natural Salmon spawning area in the future. Nice to meet Ken the photo grapher and biologist, also Chris who is part owner in the ranch by the dam, and the staff of the clean-up Ken and Chris talked today about the sediment that is being washed into Putah Creek and choking out the creeks natural spawning ground in Putah. They are going to work together along with others from the forum that are involved in helping out with this, the different projects that are on tap for Putah. Should be exciting to finally bring changes for the better for Putah. If you ever run into Ken ask him to show you the footage of the spawners on camera that FlyGirl helped him with, there are some outstanding shots of the redds spawning. Take Care Jeff
Thanx for your effort to everyone that cleaned up. I got my dates mixed up and didnt make it. Maybe that salmon was a spring run fish. There are a few left in the valley rivers.
