I'm sitting here at the Super 8 Motel in Bozeman waiting to fly out tomorrow and just reflecting on one of the best experiences I have ever had. Not too many people have the opportunity to do something like this and I have to say that I am very thankful to be one of those few and extremely happy that I decided to take advantage of it. Swee****er was awesome!!! Talk about a great bunch of guys. If I took anything out of this week it was the example this bunch set for how it should be when people pay you to come out and have a good time. I feel kind of melancholy now thinking about it because it honestly feels like I'm leaving home. But enough of that, what a great week!!! It was cold as **** and windy as hell but we got out on the water and worked our asses off. I learned so many new things and was able to hang out with experts that had answers to all of the questions I could think of. Fly tying, entomology, drift boating, jet boats, reading water, dealing with clients, first aid and CPR, you name it and we did it first hand. I really can't say enough about these guys except for if you are thinking about guiding or just want to become a better fisherman look Ron Meek up and get out to Montana. It was the best decision I have ever made. Catching fish was just a bonus, and we caught fish!!! Probably the most fun day of fishing I had was spent in the jet boat with Ron. We went up the Yellowstone and parked the boat where the Boulder River pours in. As we hiked upstream on the Boulder I remember thinking to myself "they call this a river?" But I have never seen a small water like that so loaded with big fish. We slammed them all day on prince nymphs and midge pupae catching Rainbows averaging 16-18" with some bigger. My buddy BJ even pulled out a 20" brown on a wooly bugger! When we got back every night we would either do a clinic, watch a video, or just bull**** while the guys cooked up delicious meals. One of the other students was Tim Rosenbaugh who played quarterback for the Saints and the Cardinals. Man did he have some funny stories!! I ended the week with a ton of new knowledge, some good friends, a lot more experience, and a crapload of fish! Talk about money and time well spent! Chuck

Fishing isnt about catching fish, its not about who caught the most, or who caught the biggest, its about the experience that you have on the water, and the life long bonds you make with others on the journey to becoming a better person inside.
Sounds like a great time chuck, I wish you well on your endevors. You have a once in a lifetime chance, Grab ahold of it and dont look back man, just go for it ! Maybe some day you'll be guiding me.
