Higher stream flows on Putah
Permalink

It appears that the flows/releases on Putah have started to rise to summer levels.  This morning the website shows 313 cfs.  I've never fished Putah at that level of flow.  Does anyone have any thoughts about how fishable the creek is at that level and how does it affect the holding areas,  rig set-ups,  presentations, etc? thx

In my opinion, the fishing is the best when the flows are at 300 cfs.  Just use more weight and concentrate on the "edges".

I caught a couple of planters on Saturday and the ever elusive young wild bow--a 5 incher who still had it's par marks. I only mention it because some of you guys have commented on not catching many young wild fish lately. This was my first. Saw a few yellow sallies coming off in the afternoon too. By my count I saw around 20-25 of them.

Maybe I should have fished into the afternoon yesterday. I fished from 7 to 12 and didn't even get a hit, so I quite early.
