I got off work and headed out to the river at about 4PM with my wife. Thank to daylight savings, i had plenty of time to fish. No one was on the river so I had the river to myself. I started nymphing first and did it for 20 min and only had a fingerling bow on. Then i decided to stwitch to one of my favorite patter. Black Leech.... I move about ten feet down the river. First cast......and a few strip. I felt a hard hit, but luckly i was using a 8lb leader which it didn't brake. I have experience few times where these big trout would hit a streamers and brake smaller leaders. After a nice long fight i landed it. I was about 8 to 9 lbs and 26inchs.
C&R-what a fish! When you say Lower Kings, are you talking below Pine Flat? I have family around Reedley and Hanford and often make trips to see them. With pictures like that, I wouldn't hesitate planning an extra day for travel...

Replying to the Flying Dutchman. Yes, the whole section below Pine Flat is called the lower Kings. I caught this bow right behind Avocado. The regs for the lower kings is starting from the dam or bridge, the limits is 5 per and starting from the alta weir to Hwy 180 is all catch and release.
