Lower Sac March 1 &2 the skunk is gone
Permalink

Hey 1morecast ya should have been there. I fished the lower sac on Sat and sunday morning and finally got rid of the 2008 skunk. Saturday I launched at bonnyview and fished upriver. I was solo in my jon boat so I was mostly wading. One was caught drifting. Fished all morning and fianlly hooked one around noon. It came off before I could land it but it was the first fish I felt on the end of my line since 12/07. In the next hour and a half I landed 5, 15" to 20". All my fish were caught on black super floss size 4 and 6 and a caddis fly by Hogan which I can't remeber the name of.

Sunday I only had a few hours to fish so I went to my favorite run between Bend and Jellys ferry. The water was a little too muddy for me and the wind was howling at 30 to 40 mph. It almost knocked me over a couple of times. Conditions were less than Ideal. I was able to dredge up 2 rainbows 15"  to 16" a squaw fish and had another big one come off. All on my big Black superfloss. I love the lower sac.

Yeah wish I could have, but needed to stay near home to do my "duty". Had to go to plan B and fished the Yuba. See yuba report. Glad to see you got the skunk off, the big guy and I were starting to get concerned. I was going to make an offer on your fly gear. Always can use another Richardson. Anyways did you take the jon boat under cypress? By the way that super floss seems to be the fly up there right now, maybe because of the water color? Finally, March = Rogue right?

I heard the sac was going off today. "Should been hear yesterday", how many times have we heard that? Oh well, at least I got a few. Rogue questionable.

Here's that drift boat Mike was talking about. He says they will take $2,500.

Oh,buy the way nice fish. I'm suprised the wind didn't flip that small boat. I don't think he's bringing your boat back.
