Fished today, Not much to report, 3 hookups, Two were dinks and one was a really nice fish, They all came unbuttoned. The nice one hit a #20 copper john, Just a plain copper one. The copper wire bodied fly's seem to work well for me usually. Others hit a #18 pheasant tail. Insect activity was alot better then it has been, Quit a few midges coming off and a few caddis. Water is still off color. The fish seem to be really lethargic right now. They are there but just dont wanna move around much. I'll try again tomorrow in some different spots.
Persistance seems to be the key. Lots off effort, an occasional reward. That seems to be my story anyway. And if there's no action, I just try to appreciate the beautiful surroundings. 30 minutes from my house - can't beat it.
Good report, Captain. Also fished today, not a single take Haven't seen a fish all day despite quite a few bugs in the air and on the water, especially at the end of the afternoon. Beautiful day to be out there, tough.
It's been tough out there lately. All day with not a nudge week 1/2 ago. That was around the flow flux though and the only guy I talked to was working an egg pattern for a couple fish. Just got back yesterday from the coast which was beautiful but still a fishless day. Although I did watch two gorgeous chromers jammin upstream together. Nobody else caught anything either or saw any steelhead so I guess in some ways I had the best day!
