So the jaws and my vice... its a Danville... have clipped away to the point where they do not really hold anything smaller than a size 14 hook. This is extremely frustrating considering I got the vice for Christmas... Later I might have to post something in the new "product review" section. Anyways I was wondering it others have had this problem on their vices, or if this is a personal thing.
Also does anyone know if you can buy new jaws for danville vices? I have not been able to find any on the net.
Not familiar with a danville but if you just got it for x-mas and the jaws are already worn out, that's got to tell you something about the quality?????
I did have the same thing happen to my first vice. However, this was about 25 years ago, from a manufacture that no longer makes vices. I took it back to where I bought it and they sent it back to the manufacturer. I was able to get a replacement vice for free. I have used it ever since. I would take the vice back to the shop where it was purchased and either ask for your money back or at least a replacement vice. Even a cheap vice should last more than a month.
