Want to start tying

I want to start tying my own flies now that I am into fly fishing for real. I know it would be better to invest in buying a nice vice, but right now I can't see myself paying 100 dollars on a vice. At least not until I see that I enjoy tying my own. But anyways, what is a good priced vice to get? I know that I will also need to get a whip finisher, good scissors, material, hooks, and what else? smile

Hey Frog,

Cabela's has a pretty cheap starter kit with a vise and basic tools.

I've been eyeing the cabelas kit, for about $200 bucks, seems pretty good.

I bought the Jack Dennis beggining w/DVD tying kit. I tied the first two flies described on the DVD and then set off on my own. Getting the basic materials in a kit is much easier than buying the materials separately.

Dyna King makes really nice vises.  Their Kingfisher model is pretty close to your price range.  Check it out.
