had a chance to do some fishing last night and i noticed something difrent than normal a bunch of kids and there parents playing paintball in the parking lot above the bridge dont get me wrong i used to love to play paintball i probly have close to as much paintball gear as i do fishing gear but maybee next to the creek is not the best place at the very least paint covered bunkers to me is a total eye sore i was just wondering if anyone else had opinions and if anyone knows if its legal to do that where they are
I didn't know it was paintball but yeah, I saw a bunch of people loitering around there, obviously not fishing. I thought they were gonna do some off road driving or something. Well, in my opinion, this is not the place for that activity with all the commotion and pollution they bring.
Those dudes are using "air soft" guns which shoot little plastic pellets that are slightly larger than a BB. Good news is they are biodegradable, my bro has a couple of those guns. I was trippin on those guys too until I saw the pellets in the lot. They only thing that could be bad is if they wash into the creek before they get soft and something eats and then chokes on it because it looks like an egg.
They MAY be biodegradable if made of starch or resin; many are plastic with a life of 100 years before they break down. The ones I've purchased in Davis, where it is now rumored to be illegal to discharge airsoft guns, are all plastic. So if you are in Davis, keep your gun under wraps to heep from getting arrested.
Yeah they are those air soft guns, They been doing this every sunday for about the past month and each weekend there is getting to be more and more of them. I personally find it annoying, I don't wanna listen to that when i am fishing. I'm sure it is not legal what they are doing. I'm not go and look up the law but It reads something like it is illegal to fire any type of firearm or bow with in like 300 yards of any public place, Roads, parking areas, campgrounds etc, And illegal to fire anything over a body of water(but i havent seen them do that).
i saw a guy with a painball gun with a paintball hopper on it maybe it was just the one guy and i jumped the gun i just hope it doesnt become a regular thing and bring trouble to the creek
There may be some people using air soft guns, but there are definitely others using paintball guns. There are tons of spent paintballs in the parking lot on the west side of the bridge.

The risk is that the word will start getting around that that spot is THE place to go for paintball. They're probably not out to do anything but have some fun playing paintball, but that aint' the place for it.
I can confirm that they were paintballing this weekend in the dirt lot west of the bridge. As I was leaving for the day I saw several guns with hoppers. Most of the people there were kids. There was even a supportive grandpa out there filling up hoppers for them.
im sure there probly good people and have no idea we are concernd im sure if we let them know how they are affecting the area hey might go somewhere else unfortunatly i do not get up to putah as often as i would like so probly wont have the oportunity soon i regret not trying last weekend when i saw them maybee if someone sees them next weekend they can try i dont see a need to involve the athoritys untill someone has voiced our concerns to them
What's funny to me is I spent all day standing in the creek fishing and those dudes chase each other around in the parking lot shooting at each other all day. Aaahahahaaahahaha. I didn't catch any fish either aaaahahaaahahha.
There are paintballs all over in the brush around access 3 as well. I've noticed them the last few times I was up there, and couldn't figure them out until I picked one up.
