I was up around the campground and got a big skunking today. yesterday wasn't much better, I hooked 6 fish staurday and lost em all. I had a few bumps today but nothing hooked. There were several large fish in the area i was fishing, they were cruising just under the surface, Big splashey rises when the wind would die dowm. I did have several of these large fish dart at a #20 adams, But they would come to within a foot or so and dart back to were they came from, very frustating. They were cruising close enough to the surface that they were leaving little wakes, Like little sharks. Still always good to be on the water. Theres always next weekend. Met a few people today, didnt catch your names but nice to meet ya.
The fish were probably in hiding after Saturday. The creek gets fished super hard on the weekends, especially this time of year. If you want to avoid the crowds and find more willing fish, try going in the middle of the week. If you're like me and don't have a choice, you take what you can get.

Thanks for the reports guys. I went out Friday with Concord Bob, and he caught a few and did hook one real nice one high sticking a fox's poopah. Unfortunately, like you guys, I got the old skunk as well. There were a lot of others fishing Friday. Bob and I drove up by the bridge and it looked like salmon fishing at Nimbus with so many people lined up, so we worked our way downstream.
With rain coming tomorrow, I am considering just staying home by the fireplace and getting over my cold. We'll see how inspired I feel in the morning.
Picked up a new to me Sage xp demo from Western on Friday and had to try it out. The rod works great and it was a good day to be out on the creek. I tried out Cole's blue midge and it worked great. The fly caught two fish and I had a third fish on before it snapped off. The other mayfly I got from Cole hooked a fish but it jumped off. Thanks Cole!! The fish of the day was on size 16 hares ear soft hackle. The fish slammed it and the XP held up great.
With time, you'll figure out some nice holes that produce fish consistently for you. The fish are all over the place. Just keep at it. Sorry to hear about the mishap with your flies.
