i will be spending thanksgiving at my dads place in northern Idaho and from what ive been reading the october caddis hatch is well behind and i might nrun into some sporadic hatches does anyone know of any good october caddis nymph patterns that have proven efective i was thinking of making some huge fox poopahs with orange chanile instead of the ultra any thoughts

I'd go with your plan extra large chenille.  Also Mercer's october caddis and Ken Morrish has a great pattern as well.  Dave Whitlock's red squirrel nymph covers them too.
