I was out back on Monday, added another great "the one that got away" story to my arsenal.
BUT, what I want to ask about is a different subject. I foul hooked my second fish since starting to fish the creek in August. I got him above the mid line, on the side, just behind the dorsal fin.
Wasn't on purpose, did this about a month ago. That time got the poor guy in a place stuff should be coming OUT of not HOOKS going into ... if you know what I mean !!! Landed each pretty quick, and seemed to release with only modest fatigue in the fish.
Both stockers, recent about 13", last month about 10". Any idea what gives? Am I late on the set, and getting the fish after its given up on the take? Know of any behavior that the fish has that might be causing this?
Do I (we) have legal/regulation exposure on these "snags"?
Would love to read any comments or feedback.

Foul hooking happens. It can be caused by setting too late or setting when your setup was hitting the bottom and not really in the fish's mouth. Sometimes you will fair hook a fish with your lead fly, but the fish will throw the hook and you dropper will snag the fish. This has happened to me quite a few times. Sometimes I know the fish is hooked in the mouth. While fighting the fish I can feel the hook come loose but the fish will still be on. The fight will totally change when this happens. You don't have much control anymore.
