Hello all,

I made it to the creek around 7:30, fished til noon. Thanks to the posts I have read in the last few weeks I fished a #16 Prince and a few different BWO patterns #18-#22. Landed 11 fish, lost 2 others, all were around 12-16" and one big fat fish that measured 19". All in all I had a lot of fun, but wanted to thank JL for the Prince post I would have never tried that on my own and thats the fly that my 19 incher hammered.

Thanks again,

Nick

Glad I could help.

With the BWOs hatching so nicely in the last month or so, the fish have been keying on dark mayfly nymphs.  I've done really well on larger princes (to size 14) and larger flash back PTs.

Bono may start recommending princes for his clients now that I'm not the only one catching fish on them!

:)

JL:No I will never recommend using a prince nymph on Putah to my clients...never ever ever ever!!!But I will recommened using a fly that I developed that is exactly like a prince exept that I added a single strand of mallard flank to the collar which makes this fly different.I call this fly "Bono's King (not a prince) fly".This fly is hot hot hot and is for sale @49.99 ea.LOL  Bono
